We came into possession of the EzyDog Summit Backpack
when EzyDog.com very kindly agreed to send us
one to use on our upcoming charity walk. However,
last weekend, we finally got a chance to test
the backpack thoroughly and, to cut a long story
very, very short...I like it, a lot!
So, why do I like it?
Well, it looks great for one thing. Dog backpacks
are still a rare sight in the U.K. so Monty got
a lot of attention from other dog walkers. The
next best thing to food in his eyes!
Good looks aside, the EzyDog backpack is very
well designed and highly practical. The two neat,
messenger style panels are made up of seven separate
storage compartments. I found this to be more
than enough space for a day or two in the hills.
Features include:
- Waterproof zippers
- Padded carry handle
- Reflective trim
- Award winning harness chest plate
- Leash caddy that allows your dog to stow his
own leash
Previous to our recent, thorough 'Lab Test' over
hills and fields, Monty had only worn his backpack
around the house, carrying bags of rice to slowly
build up his stamina for our charity walk. I had
already established that the backpack was comfortable
to wear. Monty barely seems to notice that he is
wearing it. My only concern was whether the backpack
would restrict his movement whilst running free
out in the open countryside. I'm happy to say that
it didn't. He ran around quite happily with a fairly
heavy backpack and he even managed to roll in sheep
poop whilst wearing it :-) My
verdict:
I like it a lot! Monty is happy wearing it and it
means I don't have to carry his food, water, tennis
ball etc when we are out walking for the day. The
backpack is very well made and cleverly designed
by a company that clearly cares about dogs! |
