The new FURminator®
range consists of four brand new products:
- FURminator FURejector deShedding Tool
*
This tool has all the features of the original FURminator
but it also has an ejector button. The button quickly
cleans the fur away from the edge of the deShedding
tool. Perfect for squirmy pets because it keeps one
hand free for holding your dog still.
- FURminator Double Edge deShedding Tool
*
The new Double Edge deShedding tool features a twin
set of stainless steel edges. This allows you to remove
hair twice as fast.
- FURminator TubNub Bathing Brush
This tool features unique rubber "nubs" that remove
deep down dirt and loose hair. The TubNub is designed
to be used when shampooing your dog. Massage the shampoo
into your dogs coat in a circular motion t stimulate
skin and hair follicles.
- FURminator Microfiber Towel
This lightweight, reusable and machine washable towel
is a great way to dry your pet in less time after
a bath. It measures 18" x 24" (45.72cm x 61cm) and
comes in FURminator's signature color - FURminator
green.
* The FURminator FURejector
deShedding Tool and the FURminator Double Edge deShedding
Tool come in a single size. They both have 2.65"
(67.3mm) edges which is the equivalent of the MEDIUM original
FURminator deShedding tool. I found this size to be perfect
for an adult Labrador
So, how good are they?
Monty Gets FURminated...
Monty,
my two year old Lab was more interested in the packaging
than the tools. This was a good thing! Monty HATES being
groomed and whilst he was distracted by chewing up the
"Directions For Use" I got to work!
The first thing I noticed was how much Monty actually
seemed to be enjoying the experience. He was visibly
relaxed and happy to just stand still and let me groom
him. Then I looked down at the edge of the FURminator
and noticed how much fur it had removed in the first
few seconds! WOW! WOW! And WOW! I had read numerous
stories about how much fur these tools remove on forums
and blogs but until you see it for yourself its difficult
to comprehend. Using the Double Edge deShedding Tool
I was removing a handful of fur with every 3 - 4 strokes.
Unbelievable! In under around 10 minutes I had filled
a 9"x9" (23cm x 23cm) carton with fur and I hadn't even
touched Monty'sbelly or the underside of his chest (he
won't let me go anywhere near those parts anyway).
Towards the end of the grooming session Monty began
to get a bit fidgety (he has a very short attention
span!) so I switched over to the FURminator FURejector
deShedding Tool. I was able to hold Monty still using
his collar and clear fur from the FURminator simply
by pushing the ejector button. It's a nice simple idea
that works very well.
In Summary:
Both deShedding tools are amazing. They certainly
live it to the hype and more! In the five days since
Monty's FURmination, I haven't noticed any dog hair
around the house. He looks and feels great!!!
It's rare that I come across a
product that I'm genuinely excited about but I'm officially
in love with my FURminator deShedding Tool!!!
FURminator Microfiber Towel
Living in a wet country with a water loving Lab, I get
through 4 to 5 towels a week during the winter. Getting
those towels clean, dry and ready to use again is a
real problem. This Microfiber towel looks like the answer
to all of my wet, smelly towel nightmares. Measuring
18" x 24" (45.72cm x 61cm), it's not really big enough
to use as a bath towel for a fully grown Lab. It is
however perfect for drying your dog after a swim or
a walk in the rain. The towel is super-absorbent and
dries very, very quickly. A really neat, useful product.
FURminator TubNub Bathing Brush
Monty gives the bathing brush a BIG 'thumbs up' or should
I say 'paws up'? This tool definitely seemed to remove
a lot of dirt and fur. Great tool!
All four products are available
in the USA from 1st April 2009
I will publish dates for other countries as they become
available.
