Nina Ottosson Dog Toys Review

Not only do Labradors need plenty of physical exercise, they also need to be stimulated mentally. Labs are intelligent dogs, give them a regular mental workout and they will thank you for it. Okay, they probably won’t send you a bouquet of your favourite flowers but I’m sure there will be a few extra licks in it for you! Nina Ottosson Dog Toys are cleverly designed to make your dog think and solve problems. The dog has to lift blocks, push pieces, turn discs etc. in order to find treats. Fun and rewarding!

I had wanted to try Nina Ottosson’s Interactive Dog Toys for months. I’d read a lot about them and seen heaps of photos of her beautifully designed toys. It was time that Monty got his big chocolate paws on one and put it to the “Lab Test”!!! (drum roll please!)

We tested two Nina Ottosson Dog Toys, the Dog Tornado (Plastic) and the Dog Brick (Wood).

Monty recognized the bone shape of the Dog Tornado immediately. He tried to pick the whole game up and run away with it. We started again and he quickly began to understand what he was meant to do.

The concentration on his face as he began to work out how to get to the treats, was cute beyond words. I could almost hear the cogs in his brain whirring away. Pretty soon, he had worked out that he needed to spin the bone shapes around to uncover the treats. His tail never stopped wagging the whole time. After around 15 minutes playing with the puzzle he was mentally worn out and flopped on his bed to recover. By the way, he managed to find all of the treats. I felt so proud of him!

It took Monty longer to work this game out. Initially, he tried to pick the bricks up. The only way to move the bricks is to slide them and eventually he worked this out.

After a few attempts, he was using his teeth, nose and paws to slide the bricks and get to the treats. It’s wonderful to sit and watch him as he methodically goes from brick to brick and gets the treats. He never misses one!

So, what do we think of the Nina Ottosson Dog Toys?Nina Ottosson Interactive Dog Toys

We love them and they soon became part of our daily routine. Monty knows when it’s time to play and he watches patiently as I fill the games with tasty treats.

Since we started using them, I have noticed that I am spending less time chasing Monty around the house to recover yet another one of my socks from his mouth!! I doubt whether this is just coincidence. I’m convinced that the toys are providing important mental stimulation that may have been lacking before. It also means that we spend more time together playing. That has to be a good thing. Nina Ottosson Dog Toys passed the Lab Test with ease! Oh, I almost forgot. It’s very easy to wipe drool off the toys. There will be a lot of drool! ;-)
