Eco-Friendly Dog Products

Monty and I have been taking a look at some really cool eco-friendly dog products lately.  We tested a number of eco-friendly dog products including a dog towel, wash mitt, bowl cleaner and dog bowl. Here’s what we thought…..

 

Zisc – Dog Frisbee

This tough, beautifully designed, 100% recyclable dog frisbee is a ‘must have’ for any Labrador. The Zisc by West Paw Design is made from Zogoflex, a flexible, buoyant material that is soft on your dog’s mouth. A great ec0-friendly alternative to a traditional plastic frisbee.  The Zisc is dishwasher friendly so you won’t have to clean off all that Labrador drool by hand . Made in the USA.

Hemp Dog Collars

The first thing that struck me about this hemp dog collar was the softness of the fabric. I can imagine the collar feels incredibly comfortable to wear. Natural hemp is hypoallergenic. This makes it perfect for dogs with sensitive skin. The collar is very well made from three layers of 100% hemp canvas and features a nice, sturdy quick release fastener. Available in a selection of cool, eye-catching designs. Machine washable.

Recycled Bicycle Tyre Dog Collar

Without a shadow of a doubt, one of the coolest dog collars I’ve seen in years! These collars are  handmade in the U.K.  from reclaimed bicycle tyres. They are incredibly strong and of course, every one is different.The Recycled Tyre Dog Collar comes in one size (fits neck sizes between 35cm and 40cm) and it should be big enough for most female Labradors and smaller males. Eco-Friendly Dog Towel

It’s that time of year again when I have to dry Monty every time we go for a walk.  The fur on his belly somehow manages to absorb what seems like 15 litres of water. Drying Monty usually takes a couple of towels and quite a bit of wresting.

The Doggy Dry Towel is a breathe of fresh air. It’s nice and thick, big enough for a large Labrador and incredibly absorbent. It also has pouches at each end to keep your hands clean and dry.  The pouches make the job so much easier. Monty is a bit of a wriggler when I’m trying to dry him. I found that having my hands in the pouches made it easier to grip onto him and stop him escaping. The thick, absorbent microfibre fabric is great for drying and cleaning wet, muddy paws.

My Verdict:

Without a shadow of a doubt, the best doggie towel I’ve ever used. Probably the best product I’ve ever reviewed. Love it!

Eco-Friendly Dog Bowl and Accessories Cleaner

This nifty little cleaning pad worked a treat on Monty’s saliva covered food bowl. No need for detergents, just warm water and a quick wipe and his bowl was gleaming!

Eco-Friendly Dog Wash Mitt

I used the Doggy Wash Mitt without shampoo, just warm water and it did a great job.

• Removes dirt and odours
• Protects your hands
• Less need for shampoo – Can be used with no shampoo at all.
• Great for dogs with sensitive skin
• Can be washed over and over again at an environmentally friendly 30 degrees C.
• 100% recyclable

My Verdict:

I prefer to use shampoo when I bath Monty (purely because it makes him smell nice) I love the fact that this can be used without shampoo if required.

Eco-Friendly Dog Bowl

Becobowls are made from natural plant fibres found in bamboo and rice husks. These bowls are incredibly sturdy and look fantastic.

• Made from natural materials
• 100% Biodegradable
• Available in five colours

My Verdict:

The Becobowl really is a beautiful looking bowl. They actually look and feel natural! Far more attractive than a plastic bowl. Certainly the nicest dog bowl I’ve ever seen and it looks incredibly durable. The fact that it’s biodegradable is a huge plus point.
