Monty spends a lot of time outdoors in the summer. Nothing unusual about that of course. Dogs like to soak up the sun as much as we do. The problem is, whilst he’s outside, I’m inside working and Monty’s no fool, he knows I can’t see him and takes full advantage of the situation.
Eventually he’ll get bored and dig a hole or two…or three to add to his already extensive collection of excavations. Worse still, he’ll dig up the ants nest at the bottom of the garden and have a little roll in the ants. I’ve no idea what that’s all about!?
So, the Buster Food Cube from Just The Dog arrived in perfect time. It’s a treat/food dispensing interactive toy and it provides a bit of much needed mental stimulation for Monty. A simple, ingenious idea. Just fill it up with treats or kibble and your dog will use his nose or paws to move the cube around until the food falls out. Simple!

The Buster Food Cube certainly does a good job of stopping Monty from becoming bored. Has it stopped him digging holes in my lawn? In the week or so that we’ve been using the Buster Food Cube, yes it has. Will it sop him digging holes forever? Probably not. He’s a Labrador. Asking a Lab not to dig is like asking a painter not to paint. It’s just not going to happen. The Buster Food Cube gives Monty a thorough mental workout though. He’s happy because he has something to do and I’m happy in the knowledge that he’s having fun.
A bit about the Buster Food Cube
The Buster Cube is a beautifully designed Interactive Dog Toy with two difficulty settings. The easier setting will allow more food to fall out with minimum effort. Once your dog gets used to how the toy works, simply increase the difficulty level to make the toy more challenging.
Pro’s and Con’s of The Buster Cube
Pro’s: Looks great, easy to use, easy to clean and I guarantee, your Lab will love it!
Con’s: Not really a ‘con’ more something to be aware of. The Buster Food Cube is made for very tough, hard plastic. So, it’s a bit noisy on hard floors such as wood, tiles and laminate flooring. It’s great on carpet and grass though!
